With a state-issued photo ID — California requires one on every pawn transaction, at every shop in the state. No appointment, no paperwork to fill in beforehand.

In person, which is the only honest way to do it. We’ll tell you what we can lend. If the number doesn’t work for you, take it home. No hard feelings.

You take the cash
Your item stays here, tagged, for as long as the loan runs. You’ll get a pawn ticket with the terms written on it. That ticket is the deal — keep it somewhere safe.

You pay it back
Come in, settle up, and your item goes home with you the same day. That’s the whole point of a pawn loan: it’s designed to be undone.
What happens if you can’t pay it back.
You keep the cash. We keep the item. That is the entire consequence — there is no second shoe.
Nobody calls you. Nothing goes to collections, because there is nothing left to collect: the item was the security, and once it’s forfeited the loan is settled. Pawn shops don’t report to the credit bureaus either, so your score never learns any of this happened.
That’s the difference between a pawn loan and a payday loan. A payday loan is written against your next paycheck, and when it goes wrong it follows you home. A pawn loan is written against an object. The worst thing that can happen is a thing you already decided you could live without — and you knew exactly what it was on the way in.

Bring the whole thing
The charger, the batteries, the case, the paperwork, the original box if you kept it. A complete item and a bare one are two different numbers, and we can’t value what we can’t switch on.
Give it a clean first
Ten minutes with a cloth is the cheapest thing you can do for an item. Dust in a console’s vents, grime on a drill, a bike still wearing last winter — it all reads as this wasn’t looked after, whether or not that’s fair. We value the item that’s in front of us.
